Angry audio problems toshiba laptop 1135-S155 and mandrake 9.2

Hi there, has anyone installed mandrake 9.2 on a toshiba satellite 1135-S155 laptop??? The installation goes fine, the mandrake installer detects and installs all the componets well (except for the modem witch I have not tried yet) even the sound card, but when I try to play a CD or a MP3 file there is no sound.

Has anybody had this problem??? help please...

Thanks

I had the same problem in a Toshiba satellite 1905. The problem was that the master, speaker and PCM volume controls on the soundcard were muted, just open kmix and unmuted them.

cheers

Greetings,

Well I can totally relate. I just loaded Mandrake 9.2 on my AMS Laptop and for some reason it doesn't read my sound card and I get no audio. It will read the cd but no sound...boo...

sooo since I am a to Linux I have been doing all my research online. (not from Mandrake cuz I also have not yet figured out the net going on there)

Here is a link that has helped me a lot.....

Maybe you can find some answers.
