Audio CD's

Anyone get audio CD's work on Suse 10 on a HP NC6220 or similar? I have read plenty of forums saying to plug the audio cable in the back since Linux doesn't read from IDE. But that statement dosn't really work for a laptop. Any ideas?

Cheers

So what application(s) were you trying to use?
xmms uses Digital Audio Extraction (DAE) i.e. does not require an audio cable.

If the disc is spinning but you just can't hear the sound, have you made sure your user is a member of the audio group?
