DVD plays but no audio (can play audio cd's though)?


using xine i can play dvd's, however, i am not able to audio. i can play audio cd's just fine and also mp3 files.

i am using suse 8.2 on a toshiba laptop.

can anyone help or start me in the right direction?

pelase provide the full output for xine, it could be hundreds of things...

You are probably using that xine that came with suse, arent u?

I had the same problem with mplayer on suse!
The solution was to uninstall it and to download it from the official website and then install thi new version! It plays now flawlessly!

The problem is, I think, that suse disabled some features of this programs because of some rights issues. But I'm not sure. I think I read something about that somewhere
