ATI Rage Mobility M1 Dual Head

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-FX405 laptop with ATI Rage Mobility M1 Dual Head Graphics.

Dual head works fine under (hiss) windows (hiss), but I cannot persuade it to work under linux.

After much investigation, I found the "ati" driver under linux does not support dual head under this GPU, which is a great shame, as my presentations necessitate the use of dual screen. Meaning I am stuck with windows.

People lucky enough to have a radeon chipset on the other hand have dual screen support under linux.

Does anyone know if:

a) There is a suitable driver which might let me run dual screen?
b) I might be able to get away with using the radeon driver (which I seriously doubt)
c} Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance...
