Any reported problems on Asus M70VN ?

Hi there:

I'm purchasing an Asus M70VN notebook and I'd like to know if it will work properly with Ubuntu or another linux distro.

Anyone knows if any compatibility issue has been known for this notebook's hardware?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards.

Hi.

There's a few places you can check...

pciids, lists pci id's for all products known to the kernel devs and more.

http://pci-ids.ucw.cz/

also many of the distros have a HCL (Hardware Compatibility List)

LQ has one, mandriva, debian also hold up their end.

Hope this helps, Glenn

p.s. you have to watch out, some of my hardware is not described accurately.

ie, my motherboard and Graphics card.

The motherboard is called a gf8200 > but is nF730a!
and Graphics crad is called Asus (1043) > But is gigabyte (1458). Go figure!

Hi Glenn:

Thank you very much for your kind reply.

I'm gonna check those HCL you mentioned.

Once again, thanks.

Best Regards.
