Exclamation Problems with ASUS A8100

Hi every body i have just installed the Slackware 10.1 on my notebook ASUS A8100 and i have some problems:

1) It doesn't recognize new P&P hardware like flash memory sticks with the command dmesg "no P&P device found"

2) the alsaconf recognize the sound card it is an intel8x0 but the alsamixer show a "no such device found" message and when i start KDE it says that their are an error starting the sound server even if i installed the latest version "1.0.9rc2" of its driver, lib, utilities..

Can someone help me to resoulve this problem?

For the 1) I don't think you need P&P feature to use flash memory sticks
For the 2) Do you use the default kernel and does lsmod show your intel8x0 module loaded ?
Also is /etc/rc.d/rc.alsa executable and did you try ' /etc/rc.d/rc.alsa start ' ?
