ALSA crash ! intel8x0 on SONY VAIO


Hi,

when I try to play a sound, big crash !
I simply got a freeze, I can't do nothing except reboot the laptop ....

I can't figure it ou .. I install last ALSA release ( 1.0.0 stable ).
And I configure my modules.conf as ALSA SITE ask.

I don't know what I can do....

LAPTOP : SONY VAIO GRT series on Mandrake and red hat ( fedora too )

(SOLVED) Alsa crash

OK. My Vaio PGC701 now boots and works ok.
I had to change the boot parameters from acpi=ht to acpi=on apm=off (although I do not know if the second one is important or not).

So: enable acpi and the lock is gone, at least for me.

... too all users of the vaio grt series ...

... give a try to fedora core 2 ... with no pain you'll get the support for the Fn key, lcd luminosity, jog dial, battery info ... all that we were missing from window$ platform ...
