advice/hints inadvance of adding CDRW/DVD to del latitude

I have just ordered a cdrw/dvd drive for my laptop(latitude CxJ) and was wondering if anyone cares to give me install config ideas before I get it. What are the chances of my RH9 just seeing it and being happy? What do I need to know about burning CDs or viewing DVDs in RH9? Thanks

Good question,
I have a C600, with the same CD-RW/DVD combo drive, and it works as a charm.
I installed Linux using the drive, but I don't believe that if you'll have problems after popping it in.
To burn CD's I just added the line hdc=ide-scsi at the end of the kernel line under grub/lilo

DVD's... XINE, VLC, just to name 2
