Unhappy Unable to install fedora core on Del Latitude Notebook

Hello

I am trying to install Fedora Core 2 on my dell Latitde CPx.

Initially i tried with dual boot , windows 2000 and Fedora Core 2 everything goes fine till the end and i get this error "No Kernel packages were installed on your system. Your boot loader will not be changed."

I tried multiple times after reading lot of posts on dual booting on the web which includes trying to install grub on /boot (/dev/hda2) and also i tried on MBR all the time i get the same error.

After all sorts of attempts on dual boot i tried just to install Fedora Code 2 removing windows2000 but for this also i get the same error.

to me it seems like grub is not getting installed for some reason.

i tried to boot in rescue and it boots file and mounts on /mnt/sysimage , when i tried to install grub manually using grub-install /dev/hda2 or /dev/hda (for only linux) i get error /usr/sbin/grub not found.

i changed the script (grub-install to poing to the correct mount point which is different when mounted by rescue)

i get another erro saying /boot now found.

i cannot read the whole script and change everything for grub to install.

Can someone please help me to solve this prolem and help me install Fedora core 2 on a dual boot system.

Thanks in advance

First off, I'd switch to Fedora Core 3 instead of Core 2, which isn't really supported anymore. Once you download a copy of that and burn the ISO images to bootable CD-roms its a rather simple matter, really. Just install Windows 2000 first, then install Fedora on the other partition but put Grub on the Windows partition, not the Fedora partition.
