Accessing MMC card in Laptop built-in MMC Card Slot with knoppix

my laptop has a "built-in" MMC Card slot, but knoppix 3.4 can't find it somehow...
Does anyone know how I can get access to the card?

The real problem is: The hdd of my laptop is broken(I think I'm going to open a tread for this) consequently, I can only use some sort of Live-Cd Linux like knoppix, but knoppix couldn't find the card slot. (under windows :/ i could write on it -> I think the card slot isn't broken too)

So, what do I have to do to read and write on my mmc?

Is there a special live distribution for Laptops, which can handle such devices?

thank you for your help in advance

edit: sometimes i hate the middle button of my mouse for auto-inserting the content of the clipboard. ;-)
