am new to this part -building kernel, I have downloaded the linux-kernel 3.9.4 and compiled it, now am using it in ubuntu 12.10 , it took almost 1 hour to do the compilation process, is it possible to attach compiled kernel to other OS (which is already done)
or
is there any website which host the compiled kernels, which won't take any time to attach with the system
you can download and install different (generic) kernel packages, those are available, you do not need to compile them.
i don't know exactly how to do do that, since it involves to play around with kernel , if some problem occurs and get stuck , then it would leave my system idle , so please guide with more steps

you can download anyone of them, install and during boot you can select which one to use. Actually it looks like a simple package install, nothing more (as far as I know)
