Support for 802.1AE

Does the linux kernel support 802.1AE also known as MACsec? I see certain types of hardware have support (82579LM Intel cards) but I assume some driver support is required, and possibly something more from the kernel?

I want to do 802.11X and 802.1AE for Linux boxes, including some that are running in VMs with KVM (I'm aware the Linux bridge may need patching for EAPOL frame transmission). Distro would be RHEL6.

Hi:

I think that the kernel does provide support for the 802.11 card.

I have a 802.11 b/g/n card and kernel 3.10 works very well with that card.
I'm not sure about earlier versions of the kernel, sorry.

I found out that the 802.11b and some of the BCM4321 cards do not work in DMA mode with kernel 3.1-

One way is to run a Live Linux CD and see if the distribution see's the card:
Code:
lspci | grep -i network
I couldn't find the 802.11ae--
