I've done a diff and there are TONS of changes - I'm focusing on the drivers/acpi directories now...

These are all different:
Code:
drivers/acpi/button.c
drivers/acpi/ec.c
drivers/acpi/osl.c
drivers/acpi/psparse.c
drivers/acpi/processor_core.c
drivers/acpi/processor_idle.c
drivers/acpi/scan.c
drivers/acpi/toshiba_acpi.c
drivers/acpi/video.c
oh, and I ran make menuconfig to get the kernel version to compare against...

Now I'm going to do some google searches to see if i can come up with any patches...

On a separate path, i got a ubuntu partition I am chroot'ing into and doing a complete update (it's an old version) to see if the new kernel works too. (I can't compile it on slackware - i get errors - so i will check ubuntu =)
