Exclamation Kernel panic: after mkinitrd

I got this error message after kernel make.
This error comes out after I did

mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.22.6 -m jbd:ext3 -f ext3 -r /dev/sda2

Code:
Freeing unused kernel memory: 304k found
initrd.gz: Loading kernel modules from initrd image:
mount: mounting /dev/sda2 on /mnt failed
ERROR: No /sbin/init found on rootdev (or not mounted). Trouble ahead.
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
I'm using Slackware 12.0 and attemp to build kernel 2.6.22.6 to this machine

Appreciate ideas & helps.

Try rebuilding initrd.gz with -m ext3. I believe jbd will be automatically included. Also, try leaving off -f ext3 -r /dev/sda2.

I assume there actually is a directory called /lib/modules/(kernel version).
