XFree problem with Diamond Stealth II S220

Howdy ya'll.

I was installing Madrake 9.2 (first linux ever for me), and I had to configure the XFree stuff. I messed around, but everytime I would test it, I'd get an error telling me to change parameters. I'd pick stuff like 640x480 at 16k colors and stuff (which that graphics card can easily do), and it'd still say change parameters. I tried switching from XFree 4.5 to XFree 3.6.6 (or 3.3.6, I don't remember) and it showed a raindom thing saying "Is this ok?" I clicked yes, and the screen went black. It didn't go into standby or anything, but it was displaying black.

Any ideas on what I should try? Thanks!
