X refresh rate

How can I setup the refresh rate of X manually. I'm running feather linux 0.7.4 from RAM so I should be able to change config files.

My graphics card should be able to refresh at least 75 at 1024x768

Go into your /etc/X11 directory, or it's equivalent in feather linux, and edit your xorg.conf or xf86config file, or whatever it is, and change the horizontal and vertical refresh rates to whatever your monitor supports.
This is form my xorg.conf file in ubuntu:
Code:
Section "Monitor"
        Identifier "Generic Monitor"
# Option "DPMS"
        HorizSync 31-93
        VertRefresh 50-160
EndSection

What itsjustme listed does nothing. It just gives the min and max ratings of the monitor so X Window System does not display a none supported resolution and refresh rate. You have to create a modeline code, so the X Window System can use it. Go to http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl to help you make a modeline. Paste the modeline in the monitor section.
