Hi all,

I got a problem with my X after installing a Slackware Linux 8.0.

Only half of the screen was displayed after Installation. I already tried editing XF86Config with different drivers and resolutions etc. for my S3/Trio64 Board and now I'm in 1024x768@8bpp but still can't see things the right way:
My screen is still cut off at top (about 1/5 of the screen has the bar X backgound) and only a part of it is displayed.

The last days I tried different things, but no chance to get a solution.

A look at the output of X gave me no errors or warning messages.

This is my configuration right now:

XFree 4.1.0
Device: Diamond Stealth 64 DRAM (Trio64) [86C764 Chip]
Monitor: 17'' CTX (don't know the model)
Res: 1024x768@8

your chip is not supported by Xfre86-4.1.0
my suggestion is to upgrade X to 4.2.0 as it supports the chip you have http://xfree86.org/4.2.0/Status28.html#28
or you can downgrade to 3.3.6 which also supports Trio64
