wintv card with new chipset

i just bought a wintv card on the strength of many reviews i read that said that it worked with linux easily

haha

they have recently changed the chipset from bt to cx88
there is NO support under linux for this chipset
not even in mandrake 9.2

i downloaded the appropriate v4l file and made and installed the results

i now have a folder in /lib/modules called 2.4.22-10mdkcustom and this contains the new drivers

how do i load them?
