It is probably a webcam not a camera and is impossible to mount AFAIK. You can however record from it and view it and use it for VOIP if you have the right drivers installed.

You can't mount a webcam as you'll get the following message:
Code:
bash-4.0# mount /dev/video0 /mnt
mount: /dev/video0 is not a block device
I have a Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 which works with the UVC driver, and I use luvcview to take pictures with it.

The OP said he had a laptop with a camera. So I assumed he ment a build-in camera. Most of these are connected through an internal USB port. That's why I asked for the lsusb output. But unless the OP is a little more specific about the camera we probably need to pull out our crystal balls to get to the right answer.

lsusb would be very useful, because it usually is on the USB bus.

The camera is listed here as working, so you need the uvc drivers.
http://www.ideasonboard.org/uvc/#status

Check 'lsmod' to see if the module is already working.

If it is working, then the camera will be seen by whatever programs you use with it.
