Video memory in Linux


Is it possible to use video RAM (if i have card with 256 or 512 mb framebuffer) in Linux (I mean not for graphics, but for tempory data or swap)?

Theoretically yes, but practically no. The interface to a video card is oriented towards writing; reads are very slow. In addition, you paid a great deal for that video card (compared to the cost of memory for your system). You should use it for its primary purpose - video. If you need memory in you system, just get some. RAM is extremely inexpensive at the moment.
