USB Flash Drive/EThernet drivers

I have an old P233 laptop which i installed RH7.3. It has a broken floppy, which wasn't a problem as i hardly use them.Instead i use a 64 meg USB flash drive for my files, which i plug into the USB port of the laptop.
Same deal with the Networking, i have an SMC Ez USB ethernet adapter which i planned to use to hook up to my home network with, all fine under Windows as the devices are recognised.
I've been to the manufacturers site of both devices and naturally no Linux drivers for these devices.
Sure i could go out and buy a pcmcia Lan adapter and a new combo floppy/cd drive, but since i got the unit so cheap i used the USB devices to get round the faults.
Any ideas?
