USB external HDD

Hi,

I want to buy a USB external HDD box for my old laptop Toshiba Satellite 300CDS, but I could not find any box supports linux. Does anyone konw which USB external HDD suppors linux? Or, if it does not matter, as long as the USB can be loaded to linux? Could you please give me some details or point me a document to connect USB external HDD box?

Thank you.

Geny

Works for me. You need to enable a few things in your kernel config, USB support, USB mass storage and support for SCSI disks. Support for hotplugging usb devices is probably a good idea too, and install the hotplug script. I don't remember seeing any detailed howto anywhere though. Hopefully someone else knows better.
