Exclamation upgrade from RH8 to RH9 kills SCSI emulation for CDROMS?

When I upgraded from RH 8 to 9 I can now no longer burn cd's. I take the blame since I did not perform the kernel upgrade myself, but now here I am. I have this post as well telling the errors more in depth and bottom line is I will blow away all the extras except smp to get my burning capabilities back.

The post:
threadid=77977

If I have to ditch all the extra addons, I will, but I hope to acheive all that is in the other post subject, and have my burner back...

HP 8200+ cdrw
dual athlon 1800+
current kernel 2.4.20-18.9smp

using that source and config adding only ntfs and scsi

HELP!?!?
