uncompressed video capture via USB2 or IEEE1394

hi all,

i'm happily using BT848-based PCI cards in my desktop PC to 'capture' uncompressed video from analog devices (composite/svideo). Now, i'd like to do the same with my new laptop.

There are many USB/FireWire video capture solutions on the market, but I'm unsure about which of those provide me with a raw (rgb or yuv- i dont care) v4l video stream. In theory, full PAL resolution (768x576x25) should be possible via USB 2.0 and IEEE1394...

As I need all my precious processing power for video analysis, i cannot spare anything to decompress MPEG/DV video.

Do you know of any such a device that works well with v4l? USB2.0 would be preferred.
