Hi everyone,
A few months ago my laptop died but I was able to continue to access the data by removing the hard drive and mounting it externally. However the other day the drive got knocked out of the usb port while I was using it (i know...
) and now I can't mount the disk (the BIOS doesn't list it in the boot options menu and I can't mount it in the OS). I believe the OS can see the disk when the disk is connected the output from lshw and the contents of /dev/ change, it is just unable to mount it.
Everything important on the disk is backed up, but getting the disk working again would obviously be much better. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong and is it possible to fix?
Thanks.
