Unable to get SB configured (mandriva 2006)

Hello experts,
I have tried to get rid of M$ and installed Mandriva this sunday.
Everything works well except my sound card (SB Vibra16c) that is not known by Harddrake. Surprisingly, it worked with Knoppix V3.6. I tried sndconfig (RedHat) and OSS but without sucess. The latter puzzeled my sound config and sndconfig refuses now to start (soundcore.o not found). What can I do? I paste some diagnostic below. Thanks.

[root@localhost /]# dmesg

With Knoppix it works

I have tried to launch Knoppix from CD and it detects my sound card. It seems it uses OSS library. Does sby know how to capture Knoppix setup and use it with Mandriva? It would be useful not only for sound but also for TV card that is not detected either by Mandriva.

you did not try alsaconf yet? it is a good program for detecting sound cards and setting them up.

when we fix that.. then maybe your tv card will work too..

if not.. you will need to find the drivers either from the tv cards site or mandy's.

keep us tuned in...
