Ultrak 499 interface

This is probably a complete shot in the dark but I'm wondering if anyone has ever run across whether or not Ultrak's "499" stopwatch can download data to Linux. It has a USB interface and an optional package (cable + software) to allow downloading to Windows. (Attempting to use the supplied software would probably not work since, AFAIK, accessing USB devices under Wine is still not possible.) There's also a (quite pricey) thermal printer available for it that uses the USB interface as well. My aim would be to merely retrieve the data out of the stopwatch and format it as needed for later graphing or whatever. Since it can print to the optional printer, if Linux cannot read the data directly I was thinking that it might be possible to merely attach the stopwatch to the USB port and print in order to capture the data.

So far I haven't encountered anyone whose used it with Linux. Anybody know anything about this device?

TIA
