Two hard drives one system

IDE drive, windows XP.
SATA drive studio 64.
Do I have to configure anything to get them working together. Do I need a boot loader or something similar. AMD 64 4000+ chip. ECS RS480-M. Studio 64 is now on the SATA drive, and I would like to hook it up in the box. Many thanks.

First you need to make sure you have the SATA drivers for your card compiled into your kernel. If not you'll need to recompile. Then you'll need to edit your /etc/fstab in order to mount the drive.

in mormal case, there is no problem to work with two hard drives on one system. "first" install winxp on ide-drive - "then" 64studio on sata. 64studio checks that there is an other system on computer, and bind winxp automatic in his grub-bootloader. after rebooting, you will find your choice. i working with 64studio, and it is one of the fastest and best linux64-multimedia-system.
