Sound not working in Mandrake 6.5 with Creative Audio PCI ES1370

Hello, I'm still a little new to Linux, though I have gained much knowledge and use 3 different Distros.

My problem is with the sound, and it's occuring under Mandrake 6.5.
Actually the box says Mandrake 6.1, but yet the prduct is called "The Complete Linux OS 6.5"

I have a Creative Audio PCI ES1370 Soundcard, and it's a SoundBlaster Compatible. Everything appears to be in order, (The sound server runs) and everything, but I hear no sounds, and this has happened before during my last installation.

Does anyone have some information on how to run the configurations for my sound card, or how to fix this error?

well for one thing mandrake 6.5 is very old. a newer distro would probably fix that also the es1370 has it's own driver in the kernel not the soundblaster one.

Thanks

Thanks for the info, I actually was able to fix the problem. I would like to upgrade my distro, but it's "Hella" slow on 56K. lol, I'll probably buy a new one on CD.
