sony camcorder usb error (dvd755e)
I have just purchased a Sony dvd-755e dvd camcorder with USB2 interface.
When I connect the usb to my laptop (Dell D620 running Suse 10.1), I get the following error popping up on the laptop,
Method "Mount" with signature "ssas" on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" doesn't exist
A dmesg shows it is using /dev/sr1,
usb 5-4: Product: Storage Device
usb 5-4: Manufacturer: SONY
usb 5-4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
scsi10 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
usb-storage: device found at 14
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
Vendor: SONY Model: DDX-C1002 Rev: R1.0
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 00
sr1: scsi3-mmc drive: 32x/32x tray
sr 10:0:0:0: Attached scsi CD-ROM sr1
sr 10:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg2 type 5
usb-storage: device scan complete
Any ideas how I can get it mounted?
I've tried manually mounting /dev/sr1 (/dev/sg2 isnt a block device),
mount /dev/sr1 /mnt
mount: block device /dev/sr1 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: /dev/sr1: can't read superblock
Is this because the dvd hasnt been finalised? Is there a way to copy the unfinalised data?
The camera takes a memory stick for still photos - I haven't got one yet, but I am assuming that will be vfat - is this going to be the only way I can copy data from the camera.
Regards,
Ian.
