Scanning new scsi hardware with RH AS3

Hi,
I have attached a new HP StorageWorks library
housing 3 tapes on a Proliant D360 server running Redhat Linux AS3. After reboot I do not see any tscsi adapter nor tape when executing "dmesg" or "lsmod". I have got a script to scan the scsi but I could not use it (many errors). I know that the drivers are included in AS3, I also know that if I re-installed the system I will work but the system is in use. How can I do to avoid Linux re-installation ?
Thanks
