Samsung SpinPoint

Hi all,
For a quiet server I am using a Samsung 80gb SpinPoint drive. What I would really like is a way to have the hard drive spin down or "suspend" when there hasn't been activity for a certain amount of time.
Any ideas or pointers on how to do this? My first thought was acpi, but any tutorials I find on it are related to fans and power, not the hard drive.

For P-ATA, "hdparm -S" should do, see the man page. For an S-ATA drive, there is at least an option to turn off the drive immediately, again see "man sdparm", but I don't know if there's an automatic suspend mode.

The -S options seems very interesting, and from the man pages looks like exactly what I need. When I get a chance I'll try it on a quiet computer and see how things go. Thanks for the tip!
