Samsung SV4002H Hard Drive

Ok I'm trying to install centos to build a web server with cpanel. The computer is an hp Pavilion 7935, 1.3 Ghz Processor and 256 ram with the Samsung SV4002H 40 gig Hard Drive. No Matter how hard i try i cant get it to work with it. When its probing for hardware it finds the drive and says it has a driver for it and loads it, but when in the install it gets to the format it locks up and says one of these 2 errors

I/O error
or Cant Mount file system, Invalid Argument

anyone know what to do?

I also tried installing fedora and got the same results.

Help, you may e-mail me personally at djanderson@insightbb.com

Thanks in advance

Sounds like your hard drive is broken... or maybe a faulty ide cable?

I would try running Samsung's drive utility.

I think this might fix it because thats what it says if i try to format it using partition magic, so hopefully this will work
