Re: Samsung SM352 DVD/CD-RW Problem
I'm not 100% positive, but I don't think you have to do anything special with the mounting to get DVD's to work on the device.
If you can put in a standard DVD, mount it, then cd /mnt/your_dvd_path/ and see the files that make up the DVD structure, then you're really close.
To get the dvd's to play, you have to install (and read up on) libdvdcss.
I would have posted the instructions that I made notes on when I got my Samsung SM-352BENB working on my Mandrake 9.2 install... but I seem to have inadvertently deleted those notes somewhere along the way.
From what I do remember of getting mine working, I think I had to make a symlink of the /dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/cd over to /dev/dvd because my dvd playing app (xine) wanted to open dvd's from /dev/dvd by default.
I'm going to keep hunting for my notes because I'm about to re-install with Mandrake 10 but I'm pretty sure they're gone. If I happen to find them, I'll append to this thread.
