Unhappy Routers for Non-Linux Modem

Hey, I have Windows Xp and Redhat 7.3 installed on same PC. For XP I have BT broadband and that works fine on XP. However, BT broadband isnt't compatibe with Linux and I was wondering if anyone knows if there are routers (or any other ways) that I can get which would enable me to get an internet connection on Linux aswell as XP. Thanks alot.

If you use a standalone router that is compatible with your broadband provider, it should work. As far is your PC is concerned, you're simply on a LAN then. Then tell Linux it has to use DHCP and you're set.

Make sure however that you get one with ethernet on the "inside LAN", there's also models where you hook up your PC to it using USB, and those protocols are often proprietary (read: windows only).
