Unhappy RH7.2 and new K7S5A ----> no mouse.

I recently ugraded the mobo in my aged Dell from the XP300 to a K7S5A and in RH7.2 it can't find the wheel mouse even though it used to be there.

I'm no expert so any suggestions welcome. Should I boot to Console not KDE and then change a config file somewhere? Or can I keyboard my way around the KDE and change the configuration there. I've read about changing to generic mouse, but how's that done?
