RH 9 cannot see my XP drive

Okay, I installed RH9 on a second drive on my pc. The linux works great and who is it stable. I would like to view some documents that I know open office can open from my XP drive. I can view a computer across the network but not the drive in the same box.

I thought about putting a partician on the XP drive but am new to this and I am nervous about it, as the XP has my life on it.
