resolution, debian-woody, HP-Pavillion f1503

Howdy,

I am running the woddy version of debian, my video card is a Matrox Millenium G400, I am using the mga driver, and my monitor is HP-Pavillion f1503 flat-panel.

I have got x up and runnning but when I start it, the monitor says that I need to adjust the resoltuion to 1024x768 @ 60Hz and after about 30 seconds of this message drifting around the screen (the desktop doesnt drift though, only this 'built-in' message from the monitor), the monitor goes into power-saving-mode. I can power-cycle the monitor and it comes back on, but the message to change the resoltuion is always there.

Now, I have my resolution set to this and I even deleted all other resoltuions from the xconfig file.

The only other post I found on the HP-Pavillion f1503 was on screen size (I have that same problem, too).

Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

I figured I post this in case anybody goes searching for this same problem. Disable the frame buffering and x will be up and running just fine.
