I had 2 computer and a Switch that I use to have only one mouse, one keyboard and one screen.
The first one is a Windows 2000, all is working fine.
The second one is a Red Hat 9.0. I don't know if the mouse or the keyboard are working, but one thing that is sure, it's that the Monitor screw the image as it's impossible to see anything. There's a horizontal deformation, and my screen is only colored lines. Any idea of the source of the problem and how to solve it?
Are you sure it's the switch causing the problem. I've had my linksys KVM switch hooked up to Red Hat 7.3 - 9 and Mandrake 8.1 - 9 without any problems what so ever. What you should try is to remove the KVM and hook the Keyboard, Monitor and Mouse up directly to the machine. If it works contact the manufacture of the KVM and findout if there is a firmware upgrade.
I have a problem using a KVM switch in RedHat 9 with the mouse going wild when I return to RH9. Win2000, and Slackware 9 work fine, but RH9 and MD9.1 go nuts when I switch back to them.
I don't have the scroll wheel enabled in Slackware, otherwise this is the behavior on the same PC (I have removable HD's).
If anyone can tell me how to keep the mouse working (MS Intellimouse) when I switch back I would be greatful. Right now I have to kill and restart the X Server.
how long have you had the KVM switch? If you can still return it, then do so and pick up the linksys model. I've run a ton of different OS's on both of my machines and never had a problem with either on the switch.
