Reading bt878 registers

Hi all

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I'll give it a go:

I'm using bt878 chip framegrabber card and it works perfectly. What I'd like to do is read the status bit from the chips memory location 0x000 (bit 7 equals 0, if no signal).

How can this be done programatically. I've looked the BTTV driver, but I don't which function to use or how to read that specific memory location.

Any suggestion/hints highly appreciated.

Alfred
