Question about tyan transport gs12 b5103g12s2 and centOS
I am using a Tyan system (see subject line) and CentOS 5.5
The issue I am having is when I do a shutdown -Fh now or a shutdown -h now to halt the system it says the system is halted but the hardware is still running. I have to physically flip the switch or press the button on the front.
Now the issue with this is that I want to be able to shut it down locally or remotely and know it is shutdown. I also want to have it wake on lan so I can turn it on remotely. So i have to leave the back switch in the on possition and have it just powered down.
I have a baytech power switch that I am using (not in the loop yet so that's not the issue)
Why wont the halt power off the system?
I too tried a regular shutdown now command and got the same results.
I looked in the BIOS and did not see anything that could cause this.
So is it a setting in the OS preventing it from powering down all the way?
