Proliant 5500 and linux


Hi Chaps,

Need ur help on the folowing case.

I'm new to server stuff and i have the possibility to get a BIPIII500 XEON ( Proliant 5500 ). option : SMART ARRAY 3200 DLT 35-70 GO

I would like to install a debian distro on it ( debian / ubuntu ).

Can someone give me his experience on it ? ( well distro doesnt matter in fact )

I thougt i have to use Smartstart tools before installing nux on it. Can someone confirm ?

Links and infos would be appreciated.
