Problems detecting a bestdata 56k modem!!

I have a 56HP92-PCT and the driver for linux in the web site of the modem doesnt have the driver can anyone explain that there doesnt exist or they dont have it! Please send me a web site compability for linux or mandrake linux 10.0 or somefin PLEASE!!!

but dont be so hard if the driver doesnt exist. I just have 16 i dont want to die with this age! LOL!

I have a bit of trouble understanding your post, it would probably help if you can include a bit more punctuation.

I don't know about that particular modem, but if it is an internal modem it is likely that you have a "winmodem". Do a search on that you would realise that you have loads of crap to deal with.

Most hardware company do not provide driver for Linux.

I have a Bestdata external USB modem. Has anybody had luck getting a system to recognize it? Box on the outside claimed it could be used with Linux but all it had was a makefile script. Is there a RPM that will do the same job?
