printer prints blank pages that say GPL Ghostscript 906 (ps2write) %%LanguageLevel: 2

My Lexmark C34dn printer prints mostly blank pages that say:

GPL Ghostscript 906 (ps2write) %%LanguageLevel: 2 %%CreatopmDate: D:20131212141546

I have Ubuntu 12.10.

I have double checked to see if my printer or software is setup to print blank pages. It is not. It does this no matter what software I used to print (OpenOffice, Librewrite, etc.)

How can I stop this huge waste of paper!!!

Sometimes when I print double sided it prints 1 blank page between each page of paper so if I print 30 copies it prints 30 blank pages!!!

Help!!!

As someone who investigated replace cartridge business and knew a girl who worked on Lexmark's tech support, take it as a gentle shove to get a printer.

Lexmark could afford to _pay_you_ to take their printers because they make a mint on the cartridges. They nearly give them away. Lexmark are _the_worst_value_ in the replacement cartridge business. They also give the least ink. The girl spent her day convincing people who had just bought a printer that they were out of ink already, and then taking flak.

It could be a problem with Ubuntu's driver: try getting this package

I like my Lexmark printer. At the time in 2009/2010 it was the best deal for a 1200dpi color laser printer and it still works great. I have only changed the cartridges once.

The only problem I have is when printing under Ubuntu it prints many blank "info" pages and wastes paper.

Why would this work? I have a different model number. My printer is the 534dn. (correction mine is the C534dn)

Usually that's an issue of using the wrong ppd.
Lexmark are always the best value in printers and the worst in Cartridges. That's their business model.
One cartridge in 3 years on a Lexmark? That leaves me suspecting your memory ;-).

It's for what you originally said you had. You could try looking for the right model at

Thanks for that, I also found that but it doesn't seem to have anything for Linux does it? I don't have a Network problem.
Should I download and install the following? Will it fix my problem of printing blank pages?

Firmware
Last Updated
Network firmware for C530, C532 and C534 08/21/09

I didn't install a ppd for it. Where do I get the correct ppd?

Two clicks would have taken you here
http://support.lexmark.com/index?seg...rompage=null#1
Is that your model's series? And you can choose the OS on that page.

Thanks for that but try it out, select Linux as the operating system, then notice there are no downloads provided, just a Network firmware update and that's not going to help my problem is it?
