Printer

I have a printer Deskjet 820cxi.

It works fine in mandrake, it works fine in Red Hat.
But it won't work in Slackware.

I don't know what else to try

I am loading the modules

parport
parport_pc
lp

that belongs to the printer.

I tried apsfilter, but at the time of the test page it just hangs

so I tried cups. I downloaded the driver. made the right selections and it did't print the test page.
It doesn't give any error.

whatelse could i try?

I installed that GH , and now I get the following

PID 28733 stopped with status 3!

just this error.

when I send something to the printer it won't print.

What I am so mad is, Why is this happening in Slackware and the others didn't?

After one day and a half. the printer started working. but now I have another problem. it only prints a line. it was like if it couldn't read a enter character.

I don't know, I have the latest GS.

Hmmm...I'm afraid I don't use either an HP printer so I can't really make an good guess?

I finally got it working, completly after a 2 days.
that is one of the reasons that I like Mandrake.
