I've been having some problems with a computer of mine. First of all, it stopped. The tape drive made a clicking noise for a few seconds, then the computer stopped. Then, when I started it back up, it told me I needed to fsck it(running CentOS4) and while I was reading a man page for fsck, it stopped again. The next day(after school), I tried starting it again. This is what happened: the hard drives started to spin up, then stopped, then started to spin up again; then the fans for the CPU and case started for about a second, then it stopped. I'm assuming since hard drives(2) and motherboard/fans were both having trouble starting that it can't be either of them, only the power supply. So now, when I try to start it, it does nothing. I've tried it on another outlet and have taken the SCSI card and tape drive out of it(don't want to fry those
), and its still doing nothing. I know this doesn't have much to do w/ Linux, but I just wanted to make sure that it is probably a power supply problem before I go get another one. So, am I right to assume that's what it probably is?
