Power button won't shut down
I realise this isn't a Linux issue, but thought maybe a solution is here. When doing a long hold on the power button; computer shuts off and restarts. I've looked around in BIOS and can't find anything there.
Home build:
Power Supply: EVGA 550 B3, 80+ BRONZE 550W, Fully Modular, EVGA ECO Mode
MB: Gigabyte B360 HD3 (LGA1151/Intel/B360/ATX/USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB3.1) Type A/DDR4/Motherboard)
To shut down I have to do it with shut down command in OS or turn off power to PC.

The thing is I built this one in 2018 I think and the power button has always been able to shut it down with a long press until a month or so back. I haven't made any changes other than updating BIOS firmware. The reset works as it should. I don't know how the wires are connected. Any connections are done with connectors; no idea where they go from there.
It appears to have shut down, but then a slight pause and boots again.

This may be one reason.
Another reason may be a CMOS battery with less than 3,0 V but not completely discharged, e. g. a remaining voltage of about 2,8…2,9 V.

Hmmm never thought of that; thanks I'll check it out.
I have a digital ohm/volt meter on order. The analogue one I have isn't very precise so will wait for the digital one.
