shut down problem - wont shut down..
so my computer will not shut down any ideas? It used too just fine.. not sure whats different but it goes to a x serv login after i shut down than shows like five kill actions and just has the blinking curser..

Hit the power button to turn off, boot, check the logs

Which distro are you using, which desktop ad how are you initiating the shutdown?

Have you installed updates or something? Does adding noapic and acpi=force to the kernel solve the issue?
What machine are you using?
