Plugable bluetooth to moki headset connection fail
I am using a Plugable Bluetooth usb, usb-bt4le, and mint 18 on a desktop computer, and a moki Bluetooth headphone set, followed the instruction, detection took place but it fails to connect, in such words on the read out. There is no reception of sound. I previously added Blueman, a bit of software. I went through various options to get it going. Make Bluetooth available, it detected the moki headphones by name, but no sound, volume is up.
I tried audio sink and hands free. I followed the moki instructions, but the light indicator did not glow solid blue as intended.
At first when I made the Bluetooth available there was a countdown of about a minute. My moki headset was searching at that time for the last 30 seconds.
After a re-start, it still does not connect, and I suspect there are other bluetooth devices interfering and my headset powers off automatically after about 2 minutes.
I am using Mint's inbuilt software as well. Should I uninstall?
I'm David Roberts at Plugable Technologies. I'm the product owner for the Plugable USB-BT4LE Bluetooth adapter you have.
We have tested the adapter with Bluetooth headsets in Mint 18, and it should connect with A2DP without problems. All the necessary modules are already included in the Mint distribution.
Please go through the steps one-by-one, and if it doesn't work at any point, please let me know what step that happened.
1. Turn off Bluetooth on any devices in the area that you have previously connected the headphones to and "Unpair" or "Forget" the connection in each device's Bluetooth settings. This is very important to make sure it doesn't automatically connect to one of them instead of to the computer.
2. On the computer, click the Bluetooth icon on your desktop. The Bluetooth window will open.
3. If your headset appears in the window, click it and select Remove Device, if it is available.
4. Put the Moki into pairing mode according to the instructions in the owner's manual.
5. Now a listing for your Moki should show up in the Bluetooth window. Click it. It should connect.
6. Click the listing for the Moki again. A window for it should appear.
7. Click Sound Settings, the Sound Settings Window should open.
8. Click the hardware tab and find your headset in the list.
9. Click the headset and select High Fidelity Playback (A2DP Sink).
10. Click the Output tab, and select your headset. Start a Youtube video or play a sound file. You should hear the sound through the speaker.
If this fails, please let me know at what step that happened. You can also contact us directly at support@plugable.com. Thanks!

After about forty five minutes after removing moki from the previous attempt at step 3, the timer icon keeps swirling and the removal doesn't finish.
