Plextor External DVD Drive?

I am thinking of buying the (Description from tigerdirect)-->Plextor PX-740UF / 16x8x16x DVD+RW / 16x6x16x DVD-RW / 8x DVD+R DL / 48x32x48x CD-RW / Black / External DVD Burner

Does anyone have any opinions on its features in Linux? Does anyone know if it for sure works/doesn't work? I really want to buy an external DVD burner for my laptop, but if it doesn't work in Linux, I will be sad.

It will work just fine, should be found as a SCSI device like /dev/scd0
